In 2005 i spent a month aboard the Nathaniel B. Palmer as we traveled around the Antarctic Peninsula while sampling the ocean sediment in hopes of determining the last glacial maximum. We worked 12 hour shifts while pulling core, but while traveling or not working, we were able to check out the scenery…it was decent.
